GES Confirms Full Payment of Outstanding Feeding Grants to Special Schools.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken a significant step in supporting the welfare of students in various educational institutions across the country.

In a recent development, the GES has disbursed outstanding feeding grants for Special Schools, covering the 3rd Term of the 2024/2025 academic year and the 1st Term of the 2025/2026 academic year. This move is expected to bring relief to these institutions, which have been facing financial difficulties in providing meals for their students.

In addition to the feeding grants, the GES has also settled arrears for perishables owed to Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) from July 29th to October 17th, 2025. This payment is crucial in enabling these schools to continue providing quality education to their students without interruptions.

The funds disbursed by the GES are expected to support schools, particularly those with boarding facilities, in sourcing essential food supplies. The payments have been transferred to the accounts of Special Schools, SHS, and SHTS nationwide, ensuring that the funds reach the intended recipients.

In a statement, the GES has requested institution heads to submit receipts, routed through Regional Accountants, to confirm receipt of funds. This measure is aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of the funds.

The GES has reiterated its commitment to effective teaching, learning, and inclusive education, and has called on institution heads to cooperate fully with the reporting process. The Service is confident that with the release of these funds, educational institutions will be able to provide quality education to their students, thereby contributing to the development of the country.

The release of these funds is a testament to the government's commitment to improving the education sector, and the GES is committed to continuing to work with stakeholders to ensure that the education system in Ghana is of the highest quality.
